A reminder never arrived

Open Settings inside Expyr and check that notifications are on. The home screen also shows a banner when they are switched off. Reminders are scheduled by iOS on your phone, so they will not arrive if notifications are denied, if the phone was off at the moment one was due, or if iOS delayed it. Changing the reminder time re-books every reminder you have.

The scanner read the wrong date

Every scanned date is shown to you before anything is saved, and you can correct it on the spot. Contracts and policies are the usual culprits, because they carry a start date and an end date, and Expyr aims for the date cover ends. If it picks the wrong one, change it and carry on; nothing is saved until you do.

The scanner could not read my document

Photograph the whole document in even light, with the date in frame and in focus. Glare and a heavy angle are what usually defeat it. If it still cannot find a date, use “Enter it myself”. Typing a date in is free and unlimited, and everything else in the app works exactly the same.

I have used my free scans

The free plan includes fifteen scans, which covers photographing what you already own. After that you can still add anything by typing the date yourself, for free, with no limit. Unlocking Expyr removes the ceiling.

Renewal steps are missing

Renewal steps, costs and fines have only been verified for the UAE, so Expyr shows none of them elsewhere rather than guessing about your documents. Dates, reminders and everything else work wherever you are. Check the country setting under “Where you live”.

Getting your data out, or moving phones

Expyr's data is included in your iPhone backup, so restoring a new phone from iCloud brings everything back. You can also export a backup file yourself from Settings, or a plain spreadsheet of what you track. Both are yours to keep.

Deleting everything

Settings has a Delete everything option that removes every item, photo and scheduled reminder from the phone. There is no server copy to ask us about, because there was never a server copy.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple. Use “Restore a previous purchase” on the upgrade screen if you have reinstalled or changed phone. Refunds are Apple's to give, so request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
